Jack the Ripper Walk
In recent weeks it has come
to my attention that certain parties are using my ghost stories and those of my
contributors as references for their own commercial enterprises. If you or
someone you know is writing a book on ghosts in the Pacific Northwest, PLEASE
DO NOT!!! copy or use the following stories or any other materials within
this website as references.
Jefferson Davis (25 April
2003)

In the last few years, many people have become
interested in the paranormal. Their interests range from taking on the
role of dedicated ghost hunters, to recreational ghost hunting. The latter
usually takes the form or planning vacations around haunted locales,
such as hotels and restaurants, and going on ghost walks. Because I have
written on ghostly tourism, I receive emails from many people about
where the ghost tours are, and how good are they? It is sometimes
difficult for me to keep track of this growing industry, so I am asking for
reader's help. Below I have links to different
ghost walks. Click on the link and it will take you to pages with more information on each
walk. These descriptions are from the organizations who put the walks
on. I do not necessarily endorse
the walk, or what the description says. This information and the graphics
used as icons are the property of the tour owners. I hope that readers will contact me and add comments
after they take the various walks. When you comment, try and be precise and to the
point. Please do not use profanity, or I cannot post your emails.
Please suggest other walks that I can add to this section.

Philip Hutchinson's Jack the Ripper
walk on Golden Tours
Ironically,
Jack the Ripper committed only five murders, and there are at least five
different tour groups conducting Jack the Ripper walks every night. This
is one tour that I have taken and do recommend for people. It costs a bit more
than other tours, but that is because they are walking tours. This tour
has a bus taking people to the edge of Jack's territory. Philip Hutchinson
is also a consummate tour guide and fellow ghost hunter. His tour is given
through Golden Tours bus company.
Tour 18 – Jack The Ripper & London’s Murky Past
Jack the Ripper – In 1888 London was
being subjected to a reign of terror as a mysterious lunatic played his
fiendish game of cat and mouse with the police, leaving women so badly
mutilated that people feared to walk the streets. The ‘Ripper Murders’
took place in the insalubrious Whitechapel area of East London. The world’s
first serial killer was never caught. To this day, criminologists, ‘Ripperologists’,
historians and amateur sleuths are no closer to discovering who the murderer
was. An actor or one of our professional guides takes you around the very same
streets, recapturing the horror and mystery of those dark nights.
Tour 18D – Jack The Ripper & London’s Murky Past
with Dinner
Turn this tour into a spectacular night out with our dinner option. After the
tour we will call at the Albert, a typical 19th century English pub, where you
can sample fish-and-chips, or a main course of your choice, followed by
dessert.
